The Kroger supermarket chain is set to kick off the official start of summer and make it even easier for shoppers at its stores in the USA to get a taste of its new Summer in a Pint private label collection flavors by bringing back the highly anticipated free pint offer for the summer solstice. On June 20, the retailer will give away 92,000 pints of free ice cream.

“We’re thrilled to launch the Summer in a Pint collection offering customers a taste of summer paradise – no passport or boarding pass needed,” said Mike Murphy, the Cincinnati, Ohio-headquartered group vice president of center store merchandising. “Last year, we were blown away by customer excitement for the pint offer and this year we are making it even sweeter.”

The limited-time Summer in a Pint collection includes four flavors:

Italian Style Summer Fizz. Formulated to “transport taste buds to a carefree moment in the Euro summer sun,” this blood orange-flavored sherbet is loaded with popping candy clusters and a blood orange-flavored ribbon.

Fireside Nights. An elevated take on classic s’mores, the toasted marshmallow-flavored ice cream treat features s’mores pieces and a glittering swirl that radiates the orange hue of a campfire flame
.
Sandy Shores. This coconut-flavored ice cream, promoted as “reminiscent of crystal-blue seas,” is swirled with a sweet and salty pretzel crunch
.
Poolside Tan Lines: Mimicking the tan lines achieved after one lounges in the sun poolside, this flavor swirls together vanilla bean, chocolate and coffee ice creams.

Shoppers can scoop up a free pint of their favorite creamy and indulgent Kroger brand ice cream at FreeKrogerIceCream.com to download a limited-time, single-use digital coupon, available exclusively on June 20, starting at 12 PM EST, while supplies last. Customers can redeem the coupon to try one of the new Summer in a Pint flavors or enjoy classic Kroger brand ice cream favorites through July 4.
