Breda, Netherlands-headquartered Lamb Weston/Meijer (LW/M) has launched Burger Fries in the Dutch retail market. Distributed frozen in 750g polybags, the product is promoted as “the ultimate fast food fry at home, and the perfect match for a tasty burger.”

Providing more details about the debut, the LW/M’s LinkedIn page notes: “Our consumers love to eat french fries away from home. During Covid-19 we have seen that it has become easier for them to order and enjoy their favorite fast food fries at home. This presented an opportunity we did not want to miss within the retail sector. Hence we created the Burger Fries concept, enabling  consumers to buy their favorite fast food fries at the supermarket.”

The company, founded in 1994 as a joint venture between Lamb Weston Inc. in the USA and Meijer Frozen Foods BV in Holland, produces and markets high quality frozen potato products and appetizers, as well as dehydrated potato flakes. It operates six processing facilities employing more than 1,300 people in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Austria. Combined annual capacity is over 700,000 tons of finished products distributed to foodservice, retail and industrial customers around the world.

In addition to french fries, LW/M’s extensive value-added potato products range includes Twisters, CrissCuts and Wedges.
