Novi, Michigan, USA-headquartered Lineage Logistics has announced ongoing development of a new facility in the Fischereihafen, located in Bremerhaven, Germany. The site is expected to have a footprint of over 19,000 square meters – equivalent to nearly four football fields – and support the growing demands of customers in the area’s frozen food sector.

Situated strategically within the heart of the regional food industry, the Bremerhaven operation will have direct quayside access to facilitate seamless movement of food products to and from the site. With a focus on customer-centric solutions, it will offer integrated solutions including freight forwarding and value-added services.

“We are delighted to announce the ongoing development of our latest facility in Bremerhaven, which underscores commitment to bolstering our customers’ global supply chains,” said Harld Peters, president of Lineage Europe.

Frank Wehlau, who was recently appointed as Lineage’s managing director in Germany, added: “The build of our facility in the Fischereihafen is aimed at allowing us to effectively address the needs of our customers, extending not only to retailers but also to food producers and suppliers who seek proximity to their end customers.”

Upon completion, the Bremerhaven operation will form part of Lineage’s network of over 450 strategically located refrigerated warehouses worldwide and will build on the company’s entry into the German market several years ago with the acquisition of the Kloosterboer Group. Designed to include over 40,000 European pallet positions, the new site is expected to be completed by December of 2024.
