Listeria Concern Prompts Recall of Frozen Cauliflower Packed in China

Flagship Food Group of Eagle, Idaho, USA is voluntarily recalling frozen cauliflower imported from China and distributed in a limited number of cases in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin under the TJ Farms Select brand in 16-ounce (456g) polybags.

The product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and other persons with weakened immune systems.  Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The cauliflower sourced from China has a 2077890089 lot code and 75544000604-3 UPC codes on the packaging’s back panel lower left corner.
