Leesburg, Indiana, USA-based Maple Leaf Farms has introduced Duck Bacon & Sweet Corn Wontons to its frozen appetizer line. Featuring a blend of applewood smoked duck bacon, charred sweet corn and cream cheese filling in a crescent-shaped wonton, the product is positioned for appetizer or entrée presentation.

Weighing in at 1.2 ounces each, the wontons are distributed in units of 25 pieces per tray in 100-piece cases to foodservice operators, as well as in trays available for purchase online. They are the latest in the company’s “Introducktions” assortment of duck appetizers, which also includes Quesadillas, Potstickers, Springrolls and Duck Wings.

Founded by Donald Wentzel in 1958 near Milford, Indiana, Maple Leaf Farms began as a small duck operation producing 280,000 ducks during its first year. Today his son-in-law, Terry Tucker, runs the family owned and operated company, which dominates the North American market for value added-duck products. Its White Pekin range of whole body duck and select cuts is available in both ready-to-cook (raw) and fully cooked varieties. Other offerings include fully cooked Rotisseries Breasts and Roasted Garlic Duck Fillets in two-packs.
