NFRA Elects New Slate of Officers and Directors in Texas

Scott Rouse, chief customer officer of Tyson Foods, is the new chairman of the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association’s (NFRA) board of directors in the United States. Elected to the post during the trade group’s 71st annual meeting held recently during its convention in Dallas, Texas, he was also was installed as a new member of the Distinguished Order of Zerocrats during the gathering.

Rouse, who has been on the board since 2005, served as vice chairman-frozen from 2010-13, secretary from 2013-14, and chairman-elect from 2014-15. He has been with Tyson Foods for 10 years, engaged in various roles including vice president of grocery and senior vice president of customer development. Prior to that he worked in sales at Dial Corporation for 15 years.

Newly elected to the board of directors were: Dave Damrath of Tops Markets, Bob Dernbach of Southeast Food Distribution, Tim Heil of Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Dave Howlett of Wakefern Food Corporation, Joe Kent of InnovAsian Cuisine Enterprises, Randall King of Lowes Food Stores, Bob Knodle of H.P. Hood, LLC, Paul Peterson of Lactalis Retail Dairy, and Mike Ridenour of The Kraft Heinz Food Group.

Elected for second terms on the board were: Brian Haley of Burris Logistics, Steve Mayle of General Mills, Marty Steinmetz of United States Cold Storage, Ken Stubbs of Florida’s Natural Growers, and Jimmy Taylor of ConAgra Foods.

The NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry in the United States. Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, it is the sponsor of March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month,the June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion, and the October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach program.
