As the frozen food industry redoubles efforts in the United States and around the world to maintain supply lines and boost shipments to retail stores during the challenging coronavirus crisis, National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) President and CEO “Skip” Shaw has issued the following statement on behalf of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-headquartered organization:

“We’re living and working in unprecedented times. During my 35 years as part of this association, I can’t recall a more challenging or disorienting stretch of days. New information and guidelines about the Covid-19 virus are seemingly being released every minute. Given the ever-changing nature of affairs, I wanted to send a quick update from our association office.

“First of all, I wanted to extend a huge thank you to each and every person reading this. In keeping customers and shelves well stocked, our entire industry is playing a valuable role in helping millions of Americans prepare to stay at home for an extended period of time. Your efforts are critical to helping families be as ready as possible in a time of uncertainty.

“With this focus on families, our March Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and Summer Favorites Ice Cream and Novelties promotions will continue as planned. We’ll also be adjusting and ramping up our social and digital content for Easy Home Meals as we have the unique opportunity to speak and engage with our large consumer audiences. The American way of life has been turned on its head for the foreseeable short-term future, and as an organization, we want to help families settle into these new routines as easily as possible. We will be sure to share with you our modified social media strategy and resources in the weeks ahead.

“Like many of you, our NFRA staff is working remotely. We canceled our Executive Conference in accordance with the new federal guidelines, but we remain connected and committed to providing our full breadth of services, and we will continue to monitor the situation for future meetings and events.

“But most of all, I hope you, your organizations, and your families remain healthy and positive as we all adjust to this new normal. If any of us here at NFRA can be of any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help in any way we can.”
