Pangea Raises $1.4 Million Seed Capital, Eyes CSE Listing in 2022

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Pangea Natural Foods has oversubscribed its Series A funding round by attracting more than $1.4 million in financing, and intends to list on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) in March of next year.

Founded in April 2021 by Pratap Sandhu, the vegan food company is set to launch its first product, Plant-based Patties, in 324g four-packs for distribution at retail stores. The hand-made patties are made of locally sourced leeks, bell peppers, spinach, potatoes, black beans, carrots, chickpeas, mushrooms, bread crumbs and pea protein.

There are plans to introduce a wider array of vegan food offerings in the future, all of which will be free of GMO ingredients, fillers, antibiotics, hormones and bioengineered ingredients. 

It is estimated  that there are presently some 850,000 vegans and 2.3 million vegetarians in Canada, where the  percentage of the population that eats meat-free meals at least some of the time is on the rise.

Meanwhile, the company has announced that it will attend Canada’s largest plant-based trade show, Planted Expo, November 20-21 at Vancouver Convention Centre West. Over 200 vegan food and lifestyle business will be exhibiting, with Pangea holding forth at Booth #331.
