RLS Logistics, through its affiliate RLS Partners in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, held an open house on October 20 to celebrate completion of its newest full-service refrigerated warehouse operation. The event, which featured tours of the facility, attracted local and national dignitaries as well as visitors from the general public.
The 83,000-square-foot (3,900,000-cubic-foot) temperature-controlled coldstore boasts 18,000 pallet positions with the support of a mobile racking system that allows the facility to have 40-45% more capacity than standard double deep racking designs. The warehouse uses an environmentally friendly refrigeration system that consumes less electricity than traditional ammonia-based systems.

Ti Cold, an award-winning, specialty industrial cold storage builder and developer with decades of experience in designing and building state-of-the-art facilities across the United States, worked worked with long-term partner RLS Complete to develop the facility with a focus on energy efficiency, advanced warehouse management and value-added services to frozen and refrigerated food providers.

RLS Complete specializes in serving food manufacturers who import temperature controlled foods, including frozen fish and lobsters, through the ports of Portland, Maine, and Boston, Massachusetts.
The timing for this newest cold storage warehouse in Massachusetts is good, as demand for cold storage is very high.
