Thai-style Drunken Noodles are among four new gluten-free frozen ready meals recently introduced by Stamford, Connecticut, USA-headquartered Saffron Road. The other three restaurant-quality offerings are based on authentic recipes from Korea and Mexico.
Details about each product follow:
Drunken Noodles features wide rice noodles imported from Thailand and infused with a sauce boasting Thai basil and a hint of fish sauce. The sticky and savory dish strikes a flavorful balance of savory and heat.
Korean Fire-Roasted Chicken serves up dark meat chicken marinated in an authentic bulgogi sauce. Paired with a side of sesame spinach, reminiscent of traditional Korean banchan, this dish offers a truly authentic dining experience.
Fire-Roasted Adobo Chicken offers a contemporary twist on the classic Mexican cuisine offering, infused with vibrant Chipotle Morita chili peppers for a kick of heat, which are smoked, ground and blended with garlic and spices and marinated in citrus juices. Finished with Poblano peppers and Jack Cheese, the dish is accompanied with smoky black beans and white rice.
Vegetable Bibimbap delivers a medley of flavors and textures. Bibimbap, which translates to “mixed rice” from the Korean language, features an authentic fermented chili paste known as Gochujang. It is blended with miso, vegetables and tofu, all atop a bed of fluffy rice.
“Our perfectly-portioned better-for-you meals offer valuable nutrition and are often high in protein, catering to the needs and preferences of health-conscious consumers,” said CEO Adnan Durrani. “Additionally, given the surge in menu prices at restaurants, Saffron Road’s meals prepared at home provide huge value and are a convenient alternative to takeout.”
Moreover, with the rise in popularity of GLP-1 medicines among a younger and more affluent demographic, Saffron Road meals are well-timed to provide solutions for consumers seeking portion-controlled, nutrient-dense options. Packed with complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and fiber-rich vegetables and legumes, the meals offer a convenient, restaurant-quality option for those on a weight-loss journey.
According to Tom McGough, co-chief operating officer with Conagra Brands, recent Numerator data showed that consumption of better-for-you frozen meals has seen an 8% increase among individuals using weight-loss drugs.
All Saffron Road products are Halal-certified by IFANCA and are available in more than 25,000 retail stores throughout the United States.
