JIFCO Products has been acquired by Urschel Laboratories, the Valparaiso, Indiana, USA-headquartered manufacturer of food slicing, dicing and shredding machinery popular with producers of frozen potatoes, vegetables, fruits, meats, cheese and other products.

JIFCO specializes in computerized numerical control (CNC) machining services engaged in producing high quality, parts. It operates one of the few precision machine shops in the United States engaged in the manufacturing prototype industry.

The company, which is also based in Valparaiso, has been renamed Urschel South and members of its workforce are now Urschel employees.

“We welcome all of our new Urschel South employees into the Urschel family,” said Rick Urschel, president and chief executive officer of Urschel Laboratories.

Urschel South is currently located on Brown Street in Valparaiso. It will remain at that location until the expansion at Urschel headquarters, slated to begin sometime in the fourth quarter of 2022, has been completed. The plant expansion will add approximately 115,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Current square footage stands at over 410,000 square feet.
