Rolling the dice with Ardo’s newly launched fresh-frozen Diced Avocado is a winning bet for foodservice operators and home meal makers alike. Distributed in l,000-gram bags, the perfectly ripened product is well suited for preparing guacamole and ideal as a key ingredient in wraps, sandwiches, salads and poke bowls. Just defrost and the kitchen crew is good to go with popular recipes featuring lime juice, cilantro, onion and jalapeños, or get creative in making a new signature recipe dish.
Avocado-based dips and spreads, which originated in Mexico, have become in vogue on the global culinary scene. The highly nutritious fruit (yes, it’s biologically a fruit – not a vegetable!) is loaded with dietary fiber and provides minerals, several B vitamins, and vitamins K and E. It’s also a good source of saturated fat, monounsaturated fat and beta phytosterol, as well as carotenoids, beta-carotene, zeaxanthin and lutein.
Meanwhile, Corn Ribs have also been introduced recently by Ardooie, Belgium-headquartered Ardo. The super sweet corn on the cob product is cut into quarters, which curl up during preparation to make for a nice presentation in dishes menued at restaurants, offered in other foodservice outlets, and prepared at home. They are ideal for barbecuing and grilling, and serve up well as salad components. Distribution is in 2.5-kilogram bags.
Both of the new products will be front and center to see and sample at Ardo’s stand (#E-011 in Hall 4.2) during the Anuga International Food Industry Trade Fair, which will take place from October 7-11 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. Visitors are invited to stop by and learn about Ardo’s extensive value-added product line, which includes hundreds of items that range from beetroot burgers and Herb Mix al a Napoletana to colorful and nutritious pulses, Siciliana-style grill mixes featuring peppers, courgettes and oven-dried tomatoes, Vegetable Fingers, Rainbow Carrots and much more.
Ardo’s 17 production, packing and distribution sites in eight countries are located from north to south and from east to west in Europe’s most fertile crop growing regions. The close proximity of factories to crops is one of its key strengths and ensures that little time transpires from the point of harvest to the process of freezing and assuring top fresh-frozen quality.
The company has sales offices in Europe, the USA and beyond. Embracing a “glocal” approach to business means it can react efficiently and anticipate quickly developing needs and wants of customers.
