American Halal Company, Inc. has entered into a retail partnership with Walmart to distribute its Saffron Road brand organic frozen ready meals in the United States. Bentonville, Arkansas-headquartered Walmart is the largest retailer in the world, generating in excess of $500 billion in global revenue per annum. Grocery sales account for over $184 billion of the receipts.

Walmart began carrying a selection of Saffron Road’s international-inspired frozen bowls and meals in more than 4,300 of its 4,750 store locations nationwide beginning in late August. Distribution includes listings at over 3,000 Walmart super-centers.

Among World Cuisine items now stocked are Shoyu Ramen Bowl with Chicken, Tan Tan Ramen Bowl with Chicken, Chicken Biryani with Basmati Rice, Chicken Enchiladas Poblano with Black Beans & Rice, Chicken Pad Thai with Rice Noodles, and Chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice.

Adnan Durrani, chief executive officer of Stamford, Connecticut-based Saffron Road, said that the retail partnership with Walmart signifies a growing shift toward consumer demand for nutritional, convenient food options as well as authentic, worldly flavors.

Noting its continued effort to make healthy-eating meal solutions more accessible to US households, the ceo remarked: “We were honored by Walmart selecting us for this major national rollout, which is another testament to the fact that Saffron Road has an exceptional affinity to bring discerning shoppers into mainstream grocery stores.”

He added: Everyone should have equal access to healthy food options, and with 80 million households shopping at Walmart every week on average, more consumers will have access to our clean label meals.”

Recently recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in America with a placement on the Inc. 5000 list for the third time, Saffron Road has achieved continued success since its founding in 2008. In addition to a wide range of frozen entrées, it sells plant-based protein snacks. All products are Halal-certified by IFANCA and are available at more than 20,000 retail locations throughout North America.
