Young’s Introduces Basa Fish Fillet Goujons to UK Foodservice Operators

Grimsby, England-headquartered Young’s Seafood is launching Crispy Battered 100% Fish Fillet Goujons in the British foodservice sector. Packed frozen in 1kg bags distributed in units of four per case, the easy-to-prepare basa species product is a  solid source of protein, vitamins and minerals.

“Whether served simply with a bowl of dip or added to a sandwich with salad and tartar sauce, or even highlighted on a sharing platter with scampi, chunky chips and crispy vegetable sticks, there are many ways that these versatile fish goujons can be offered,”  said Joel Carr, development chef at Young’s Foodservice. “They’re great for a quick lunch, a snack and of course work well as part of a main meal.”

Utilizing more than 30 species sourced from five continents, it provides a wide assortment of value-added frozen and chilled, branded and private label fishery products to retail and foodservice customers.  More than 2,000 items – ranging from salmon dishes and breaded scampi to fish pies, battered fish and fillets – are packed by the company, which is said to supply as much as 40% of all the fish and seafood consumed in the UK.
