Prime Shrimp, a New Orleans, Louisiana-based marketer of premium shrimp products, has announced the launch of Prime Shrimp Burgers. Made with 80 percent shrimp and free from sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), these cook-from-frozen, pre-portioned patties are offered to customers across foodservice and retail sectors.

Made with Pacific white shrimp sourced from responsible aquaculture suppliers in Ecuador, each four-ounce shrimp burger patty features a blend of large shrimp pieces, chopped bell peppers and Prime Shrimp’s Signature Cajun seasoning.

The new product made its direct-to-consumer debut in May with an exclusive airing on the QVC television shopping channel, where it sold out during the first and second broadcasts. Since then, Prime Shrimp Burgers have maintained a high customer rating on QVC, with reviewers praising its flavor, convenience and texture.

“Customers have been clamoring for truly gourmet shrimp burgers for years, and we’ve finally perfected the craft,” said Davis McCool, the business development supervisor at Prime Shrimp. “Certainly, there are alternate shrimp and seafood burgers on the market, but there is nothing quite like our burger, as customers have validated. Eighty percent shrimp with no fillers or additives goes a long way toward impressing even the finest gourmet chefs.”.

Prime Shrimp Burger foodservice packs contain 24 patties per case, offering operators an efficient, cost-effective solution to easily add a unique item to the menu. All of the company’s products are packed at it FDA-approved facility in New Orleans, where shrimp are peeled, deveined and portioned to exacting standards.
