Young’s Chip Shop, the leading frozen battered fish brand in the British retail market, has introduced the Jumbo Fish Special, featuring two 240-gram fillets of 100% natural pollock coated in signature crispy, bubbly batter.
Now available in Tesco and other major grocery chain stores across the United Kingdom, the launch builds on the success of Young’s Jumbo Cod Special, which has delivered £1.4 million RSV in just 12 months [Nielsen 52-week ending July 12, 2025]. During the same period, Young’s overall sales totaled £179 million.
Priced at £5 for two fillets, the new product taps into consumers’ cost-of-living mindset without compromising on taste or quality, as the brand’s marketing team responds to demand for larger portions and indulgent at-home meals that are affordable.
With 57% of Young’s Chip Shop Jumbo Cod sales being incremental, the new pollock variant aims to attract even more shoppers to both the brand and the frozen category.
