The Tesco supermarket chain in the United Kingdom announced on March 18 that it is “continuing to shake up it frozen aisle with the launch of over 145 new and improved products aimed at transforming summer mealtimes.”
To help shoppers gear up for barbecue season, the retailer is rolling out 11 new Firepit BBQ lines alongside a Finest frozen sausage range, an overhauled ready to cook Finest frozen fish line, ice creams and exclusive to Tesco private label products.
This move follows Tesco’s biggest overhaul of the frozen aisle in more than a decade last year as it continues to modernize the category and respond to growing customer demand for quality and value.
Details about some of the 147-product revamp follow.
• 11 New Firepit Offerings. Ready to BBQ straight from the freezer, the assortment includes Beef smash burgers, Tandoori Thigh Fillets and Mango Coconut Lime fish skewers.
• Finest Sausages. Focused on quality, the sausages are gluten-free.
• Finest Fish. The revamped fish range has been made to bring a touch of luxury to mealtimes with the launch of Wild Argentinian Red Shrimp, Mediterranean Basa with a ragu sauce, Smoked Haddock and Leek Rarebit Gratin, Cod and Broccoli Mornay, and Pink salmon Florentine.

• Exclusive to Tesco Product Launches. In a UK first, the chain is debuting Fruit Riot, frozen fruit with a splash of lemon juice and candy flavoring, in addition to Nutella frozen doughnuts, Crosta Mollica Siciliana pizza and Tru Fru White & Dark Chocolate strawberries.
• Desserts and Ice Creams. Seven new frozen desserts and nine ice creams have debuted, including Double Dipple Hazelnut and White Chocolate ice creams, Raspberry and Limoncello vertical roulade, French classic patisserie individual apple tarts, raspberry tarts and chocolate and coffee cakes.
• Frozen Herbs. And for folks who like to add some extra flavor to home-cooked meals, Tesco is launching a wider range of frozen herbs including chili, basil, coriander and parsley.
