Following a sold-out limited launch last summer, Van Leeuwen and Guinness are bringing Lovely Day for a Guinness ice cream to Whole Foods Market outlets across the United States this month. The suggested retail price of $7.99.

The collaboration reinforces Van Leeuwen’s position as a leader in culturally relevant flavor innovation – bringing together high-quality ingredients with buzzworthy partnerships.

Van Leeuwen is known nationally for out-of-the-box limited-edition collaboration flavors such as Hidden Valley Ranch, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Bigface Coffee Affogato in partnership with NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, and Espresso ice cream in partnership with singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter.

“This is exactly the kind of collaboration we love – taking a really iconic flavor and translating it into something new using great ingredients. After seeing how much people loved it, expanding into Whole Foods just made sense,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, the Brooklyn, New York-headquartered company’s chief executive officer and co-founder.

The ultra-creamy French-style ice cream infuses the distinct flavor of Guinness stout – roasted barley and a smooth, balanced finish – paired with chocolate chunks. The product is packaged in a custom pint-inspired carton that is instantly recognizable and unmistakably Guinness.

Inspired by the 1950s “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ads, the collaboration bridges brand heritage with modern cultural relevance – reimagining how consumers experience Guinness today.

“This partnership is about more than flavor – it’s about bringing people together over a Guinness in a new way, because even the most timeless rituals can be enjoyed a little differently,” said Karissa Downer, director of Guinness in the United States. “From a beautifully poured pint at the bar to one in your freezer, we’re always finding new occasions to enjoy a Guinness. Turns out, some great pints call for a spoon!”
