Aviko, the Steenderen, Netherlands-headquartered producer of frozen french fries and other value-added potato products, spotlighted fast growing quick service restaurants in Britain in the latest newsletter issued by its UK foodservice team. Noting that each operator is expanding sales on the back of “delicious food, strong branding and opening multiple sites through franchising or sizable investment,” here’s a synopsis of the “Top 5.”

Fireaway

Launched in South London by Mario Aleppo, the pizza brand takes it cues from Subway in giving customers the choice of personalizing their pizza selection. Not only that but toppings combined with handmade dough and a wood-fired oven with pizzas ready in a speedy 180 seconds makes this a strong concept that ticks all the boxes for consumers. Expansion in Britain has been rapid and with master franchises already signed internationally, Fireaway is on its way to emulate globally recognized brands Pizza Hut and Dominos with its own unique take on pizza.

Wingstop

A pioneer of wings cuisine originating in Texas in 1994 from a small buffalo style chicken wing restaurant, the chain has expanded globally and has 20 sites and counting. Its menu features classic and boneless wings, as well as tenders with the choice of 10 distinctive sauces. The focus is on putting flavor first.

Chaiiwala

Starting out in Leicester in 2015 serving a taste of India, a gap in the QSR market for authentic Indian tea was filled. The menu now boasts more than well loved Chaai, incorporating Indian street food favorites such as Samosas and Chilli Paneer whilst putting an Indian twist on chips (fries) with Masala Chips. The brand has used social media well with a menu that delivers on strong flavors.

Black Rooster

A true Scottish success story with roots in Glasgow, the brand promises authentic Peri Peri chicken seasoned and grilled to perfection by chefs who “spend hours refining the taste and flavor of every item on their menu.” Staying true to its roots, Black Rooster recently agreed a partnership with Rangers Football Club to become the club’s Official Restaurant Partner. With more sites planned to open in UK and in the Middle East, the future looks bright.

Dallas Chicken

What started out in Tooting pioneering in serving freshly fried halal chicken in London has grown to become a successful franchise with more than 20 sites. The menu delivers on quality with pizza as well as chicken offerings. Eye catching branding coupled with bright modern looking fast food restaurants makes this an attractive destination for customers and investors.

Strong Branding and Flaorsome Food

There is perhaps no surprise that strong, consistent branding coupled with tasty food plays a key role in attracting and driving loyalty among consumers for all of the UK fast food restaurants mentioned above. Maintaining consistent and high food quality across sites is crucial to any successful fast food chain.

Aviko emphasizes that its range of products helps achieve this. Its SuperCrunch fries deliver the base to build a flavored fries solution staying hot and crunchy, while moreish appetizers like Mac n Cheese Triangles (pictured below) bring premium quality flavors with minimal fuss and maximum convenience to the kitchen.
