Flatbreads, Fillo Products Among Kontos Stars in Dubai
Kontos Foods, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of traditional Greek and Mediterranean foods since 1987, will showcase an extensive range of Halal- and Kosher-certified frozen flatbreads, as well as its fillo dough and sweet Middle Eastern-style fillo pastries at the Gulfood trade show in Dubai from February 21-25.
Visitors to the Paterson, New Jersey, USA-headquartered company’s booth (No. S3-C53 in Hall Shk Saeed 3) will be able to check out over 50 varieties of flatbreads, including the new Rustics Collection of light and fluffy, oblong-shaped Naan bread; Tandoori-style Naan bread in original and garlic flavors; Massala Nan, featuring a blend of fresh chopped hot chili and onions with oriental spices; Kontos Pocket-Less Pita; Greek Lifestyle Flatbread; Gyro breads; grilled Panini breads and other ethnic flatbreads.
The company will also be spotlighting fillo dough of varying thicknesses, as well as Kataifi dough – finely spun strands of dough that add golden crunch to seafood and dessert dishes. Attendees will be able to sample several products, including Kontos Foods’ ready-made Baklava and Nut Roll pastries.
“With an extensive Middle Eastern and Indian clientele in the US and around the world, Kontos Foods knows this marketplace well and we’re looking forward to showing our latest products to retailers, restaurants and other foodservice attendees. We had a very positive experience at last year’s Gulfood show and are looking forward to expanding our relationships in the region,” said Steve Kontos, vice president and owner of the company.
“Consumers in the Gulf area, India and other countries in the Middle East and the Asian subcontinent appreciate authentic, ready-made breads that are simple to warm and serve with local dishes,” said Warren Stoll, marketing and business development director for Kontos Foods. “It’s exciting to be sharing our traditional breads, which are hand-stretched for fluffiness, in a region of the world known for its delicious and varied cuisine.”
