Corey Rosenbusch Takes Helm at Global Cold Chain Alliance

Corey Rosenbusch was named president and chief executive officer of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) at the conclusion of the 123rd IARW-WFLO Convention & Expo, which recently took place in San Diego, California. He succeeds Bill Hudson, who served as GCCA president and ceo for 32 years.

In November of 2012, Rosenbusch and Hudson embarked upon a 16-month leadership transition, in which relationships and responsibilities were transferred. During that period Rosenbusch served as the Alexandria, Virginia, USA-headquartered trade association’s president and chief operating officer.

Hudson has now assumed the position of president emeritus of the organization, which represents approximately 1,300 member companies from more than 65 countries. In this new role he will work in an advisory capacity to ensure that GCCA continues to grow and serve as the global leader for all sectors of the cold chain.

“Corey has more than demonstrated his capacity and vision. His diverse international background, knowledge of our industry, and leadership skills will take us forward into what I know will be a strong future,” said Tom Poe, chairman of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses, the largest of the four core partners of GCCA. Other members are the World Food Logistics Organization, the International Refrigerated Transportation Association, and the International Association for Cold Storage Construction.

Rosenbusch has been with GCCA for eight years, overseeing government affairs, international programs and membership services. Previously, he served as the director of a Texas A&M University cold chain development project in Indonesia, and also worked with food industry executives in his role as president of the National FFA Organization. The new ceo holds a Master of Education degree in international development from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from Texas A&M University.

“I am honored to be able to continue to lead one of the best associations for one of the most important industries in the world,” Rosenbusch said. “It’s rare to find an opportunity that intersects all elements of one’s background – in my case, the agriculture/food industry, international work, and association leadership, and this position offers all of this. I have also been privileged to have Bill as a mentor, and I’m grateful for his investment in preparing me for this position.”
