Frozen pizza and flatbread are among new products being showcased by Daiya Foods at the Natural Products Expo West taking place March 8-11 in Anaheim, California. Debuting at booth #1753 are:
• BBQ Plant-Based Chick’n Thin Crust Pizza – featuring gluten-free thin crust layered with savory plant-based chick’n, smoky BBQ sauce, fire-roasted tomatoes and red onions, and mozzarella shreds
• Plant-Based Chick’n, Smoked Bac’n Ranch Style – Flatbread – topped with a mix of plant-based chick’n, smoked plant-based bac’n and tangy ranch sauce, layered with mozzarella shreds on Daiya’s crispy flatbread style gluten-free crust.
The Burnaby, British Columbia,Canada-headquartered company was the first to market with plant-based cheeze 15 years ago. Its new allergen-free Chick’n shreds are made from peas, oats and rice. The savory, juicy, and tender ingredients pair well with Daiya’s plant-based cheeze on a crispy gluten-free crust.
“It’s an exciting moment for us as we unveil our latest innovations at Expo West this year – and even more exciting to be the able to offer consumers the first allergen friendly, plant-based pizza and flatbread featuring chicken shreds,” said Melanie Domer, chief marketing officer. “Our R&D team has developed two delicious offerings that have sampled exceedingly well with consumers so far. We can’t wait to see what everyone thinks.”
Alongside product sampling, Daiya will be hosting happy hours at its booth on March 9 and 10, from 4-6 PM. Among menu treats that will be offered are Bean & Cheese Nachos, Bruschetta Crostini featuring Daiya 4 Cheeze Italian Shreds, and Lettuce Wrapped Plant-Based Sliders.
Daiya products are broadly available in more than 25,000 grocery stores across the USA and Canada, as well as through e-commerce partnerships. Beyond North America, distribution has been achieved in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
