Danny’s Sub and Pizza, a Cape Coral, Florida-based maker of Danny’s Cuban Pizza, is recalling approximately 19,275 pounds of frozen meat pizza produced without benefit of required federal inspection, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on July 28.

Four varieties, distributed in 14-oz. and 17.5-oz. plastic shrink wrapped packages between January and July 2022, feature chorizo, pepperoni, ham and Hawaiian toppings. Shipped to retail stores in Florida and Texas, the pizzas display no lot code, packaging dates, establishment number, USDA mark or other identifying information on labels.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities, and to date there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products. Consumers with questions about the recall may contact Danny Rodriguez, president of Danny’s Sub and Pizza, by phoning +1 239-440-9367.
