The Frostkrone Food Group reports that its introduction of new offerings and the showcasing of a wide range established popular products were well received at the recent Anuga B2B trade show in Cologne.
“Over the course of five days, visitors were able to witness the diversity and quality of our finger foods and snacks. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback,” stated Emiel Lommen, global commercial director of the Rietberg, Germany-headquartered frozen appetizer and snack foods specialist.
The company’s stand attracted numerous international buyers keen to see and sample the latest product innovations. Of particular interest were vegan seafood options, which have recently expanded the offerings of the plant-based “Really?!” food range.
Frostkrone’s vegan calamari is remarkably similar in taste and texture to real squid products. Encased in a crispy coating, it presents nicely as a finger food or a side dish. Also boasting a delightful crunch are plant-based shrimp, which serve up a tender yet firm texture and a delicate flavor that requires no elaborate preparation. Then there are tasty chickpea sticks and vegan chickpea fries are crispy and golden on the outside, and creamy with a mildly nutty in flavor on the inside.
“The exceptional interest in innovations within finger food and snacks demonstrated once again during Anuga 2023 underscores their significance,” said Lommen. “Flavourites is an outstanding example of our innovative products. They impressed with their flexibility in the development and production process.”
This finger food variation is crafted with a special technology that allows for customization in size and weight. The range of available ingredients is highly diverse, as exemplified by Flavourites Jalapeños Nacho Cheese Bites, which feature spicy jalapeños and tangy nacho cheese in a crispy coating.
A small surprise at Anuga came in the form of the newly developed Burger Balls, a cheeseburger in a round finger food format. The concept offers numerous possibilities, whether for a flying buffet or a home party.
All of Frostkrone’s finger food variations can be prepared in just a few minutes using an oven, deep fryer, or hot air fryer, and can be consumed immediately.
