Plant-based Like Chick’n Wings, a LikeMeat brand under the Livekindly Collective banner, are now available in the frozen food aisle at over 1,400 Target stores across the United States. The product is promoted as a “perfect snack to devour with your game-watching crew,” as NFL fans gear up for the most watched sporting event of the year in the United States. It is estimated that 89% of Americans will gather with others to view the Super Bowl on TV, and 70% of party planners aim to include alternative or diet-specific foods such as plant-based or gluten-free products on the menu.

“Launching in Target in time for the big game is a big win for us,” said Emily Klooster, vice president of marketing at New York City-based LikeMeat. “Like Chick’n Wings are a deliciously crispy, plant-based alternative to satisfy your craviest of cravings. We are here to crash the chicken party, one wing at a time.”

She added that the product’s “bone-free spin on a fan-favorite party food ditches the bird, while still delivering the crispy, juicy, meaty taste and texture of wings. Non-GMO, gluten-free, packed with plenty of plant-powered protein and fiber, Like Chick’n Wings taste good while doing good too.”

The retail price at Target is $9.99 per one-pound family pack. Every bag includes a vegan buffalo sauce to coat, dip and toss the faux wings in.

Livekindly Collective was founded by the Zurich, Switzerland-headquartered Blue Horizon Group on the belief that plant-based alternatives have the power to greatly improve sustainability in the global food system. In addition to Like Meat, its portfolio of brands includes The Fry Family Food Co., Oumph!, The Dutch Weed Burger, Happy Chicken and Giggling Pig. The company has over 500 employees and distributes products in more than 40 countries.
