Jeffrey J. DeLapp will assume the role of president of McCain Foods’ North America operations, effective June 2, 2014. Based in Lisle, Illinois, he will replace Frank van Schaayk, who is retiring in October.

DeLapp, who served as president of ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston, Inc. from 2002-2010, brings to McCain more than 25 years of leadership experience in the food industry. He began his career at ConAgra Foods Specialty Potato Products in 1984 and served in a variety of production, quality assurance, and sales slots until 1990. He then joined Sara Lee Bakery, holding the positions of national account manager and operations category manager before running the company’s contract manufacturing group.

In 1999, DeLapp was named president and ceo of the Bruss Company, a value-added foodservice meat producer. In 2001, he rejoined ConAgra Foods Specialty Potato Products as a vice president of strategic development.

“Jeff’s passion, expertise in and dedication to the potato industry will be of great value to McCain,” said President and CEO Dirk Van de Put. “He will be a tremendous asset to both our business and our Senior Leadership Team.”

DeLapp earned a Bachelor of Science & Business Administration from the University of Oregon, and received an MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
