The Dedham, Massachusetts-headquartered Papa Gino’s restaurant chain has rolled out a frozen version of its traditional thin crust pizza in grocery stores across the USA’s New England states. Among toppings upon the 12-inch diameter pizzas are three-cheese, extra cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushroom, and pepper & onion.

The launch was kicked off at Big Y Foods, which is one of the largest independently-owned supermarkets in the region, less than a week before the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game between the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars on January 21. For those who missed it, the Pats scored a dramatic 24-20 come-from-behind victory.

Tim Lamson, executive vice president of the company’s whose mainstay menu pleaser is the official pizza of the Patriots, remarked: “Our top priority when considering entry into the frozen food market was maintaining high product quality and taste consistent with our authentic Papa Gino’s signature pizzas served in our restaurants. This new offering nicely complements our 150 Papa Gino’s restaurant locations.”

CEO Mark DeBlois added: “At Papa Gino’s we are always looking to provide our guests with new, innovative ways to enjoy our Traditional Thin Crust Pizza using our 80-year old family recipe. We are excited to now offer a top-quality product to the grocery retail channel.”

Eric Swensen, a vice president at Big Y, commented: “We are excited to be the first store to offer our customers the classic, distinct taste only available in a Papa Gino’s pizza. We are thrilled to provide them with access to this New England treasure.”
