ProAmpac, a leader in flexible packaging and material science, is showcasing its recently introduced ProActive Recyclable Paper-1000 at the 10-day Interpack 2023 show in Düsseldorf, Germany, that runs through May 10. Pictured above, this is first product launched in a series of new curbside recyclable paper-based packaging solutions that are heat-sealable with good moisture barrier and excellent directional tear properties.

“Designed to run efficiently on existing filling equipment, ProActive Recyclable RP-1000  delivers high-performance while also being easy for consumers to recycle at home,” pointed out Adam Grose, ProAmpack’s chief commercial officer. “Brands are demanding more paper-based sustainable packaging solutions. RP-1000 fulfills our promise to deliver sustainable products while not sacrificing performance.”

Promoted as an ideal replacement for non-sustainable conventional multi-material laminates, RP-1000 is suited for frozen food applications such as ready-to-eat meals and vegetables. It can also be used for some dry foods and secondary packaging applications such as confectionery, and can be recycled in both paper and mixed streams.

“Our curbside recyclable RP-1000 series has optimum stiffness for enhanced shelf appearance, very good moisture barrier for dry products, and is designed to withstand freezer conditions. In addition, its premium sealant technology allows it to run on high-speed form-fill-seal equipment,” said Hesam Tabatabaei, global vice president of product development and innovation at ProAmpac, a Cincinnati, Ohio USA-based unit owned by Pritzker Private Capital along with management and co-investors.

Bradman Lake Launch High-Speed Intelligent Motion Feeder

Visitors to Bradman Lake’s Stand 5C22 in Hall 5 at the Interpack exhibition will see in action the new high-speed pressure-less IMF Intelligent Motion Feeder, specifically designed to improve packaging efficiency and flexibility and help to increase profitability.

The IMF will automatically feed products into the FT120 Flow Wrapper. The wrapped products will then enter the DRT Dual Racetrack Robotic Toploader, which will pick and place products into cartons formed and glued on the HSS Servo Driven Carton Former. Filled cartons will transfer to the IL120 Carton Closer and are sealed using hot melt adhesive, demonstrating a flexible and modular top load cartoning approach.

For the side load approach, Bradman Lake will display the well-established SL903 End Load Cartoner. It erects, loads, and closes cartons within one frame. A wide range of optional features, including a low-height carton hopper, are available to enable the machine to be readily adapted to meet the customer’s specific requirements.
