The Frostkrone Food Group has appointed Roman Wedel as its new Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and Corporate HR Director, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability. The Rietberg, Germany-headquartered frozen appetizer and finger food specialist operates eight production facilities globally and employs approximately 1,300 people.

Wedel will be responsible for driving sustainability strategy and overseeing its implementation. Preparing for the challenge, he recently completed the Leading Sustainable Corporations Programme at Oxford University. In addition to the new duties, Wedel will continue to lead the Group’s human resources department as Corporate HR Director.

Having joined Frostkrone Food Group in 2009 as a controller, Wedel has progressively expanded his role within the organization, particularly in leading sustainability initiatives. His latest appointment reflects the increasing significance of sustainability in the company’s overall strategy and marks a key step in its continued evolution.

“Sustainability is an essential priority that we are already actively pursuing across many areas of the business. I am excited to take on this vital responsibility and to further shape our approach,” said Wedel.

Frostkrone sells its wide range of products – which runs the gamut from Burger Balls and Burrito Bites to Arancini Pesto Gouda Hearts, Piz’wich snacks and more – to the retail grocery trade and foodservice sector throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.

The Group operates cutting-edge production facilities in Germany, France, the UK and in the USA. Since its founding in 1997, the company has established itself as an innovative trendsetter in frozen convenience food segment.
