Stouffer’s, a top brand in the United States frozen food industry, has introduced a new single-serve-size pouch of White Cheddar Mac & Cheese to its foodservice range. The popular ready meal can be prepared five different ways: boil-in-bag, microwave, pizza oven/impinger, rapid-cook oven, and steamer.

The single-serve product is promoted by the Solon, Ohio-based Nestlé USA company as “great option for operators, especially those with limited footprint kitchens, who want to offer high-quality and convenient meals. Adding it to the menu can help to optimize kitchen labor while providing a reliable supply chain and steady cost of goods.”

Devoid of artificial flavors and colors as well as preservatives, the recipe features a nine-month-aged white sharp cheddar cheese and tender cavatappi pasta. Distribution of the individually portioned meals is in easy-to-heat bags, assuring less waste. Versatility of the offering makes it a good choice for various foodservice formats, from fast-casual to family-friendly restaurants, and even food trucks.

“This new single-serve pouch makes fulfilling orders much more efficient during off-peak hours or slower seasons,” said Doug McGohan, Sr., manager of culinary Innovation at Stouffer’s. “With this innovation, operators now can better control their food costs and eliminate waste without compromising on the same delicious flavor and quality the larger portion is known for.”
