Sweet life has been found, and it comes in the form of frozen confectionery!

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of reggae music artist Bob Marley’s iconic Legend compilation album, the 1Love Foundation has partnered with Ben & Jerry’s to develop and launch a new special-edition ice cream flavor, “Satisfy My Bowl.”

What makes this partnership all the sweeter is that proceeds from the special-edition flavor will enable the 1Love Foundation and Partners for Youth Empowerment to promote self-actualization among young people in Jamaica, and continue Marley’s legacy of using music to influence positive change around the world.

The flavor is being launched this month at an event in the United Kingdom, The Legend Session, where emerging artists from around the country have been invited to submit original music for a chance to stir up their own unique versions of Bob Marley’s Legend tracks live on stage.

As of now, “Satisfy My Bowl” ice cream will be available across the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway in 200-ml containers sold at retail shops. For some as yet unexplained reason, it does not seem that the product will be coming to America anytime soon.

“I think we can all agree that this is a big mistake, and so we need to take action,” commented a fan on the www.bobmarley.com website. “With that in mind, I’ve started this petition, and once we get 5,000 signatures I’m going to e-mail it to Ben & Jerry’s and try to convince them to make it a global flavor. But I need the power of the masses behind me, so please again sign the petition, send it to your friends and family, share it on Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / Snapchat, and let’s show the world the power of the Internet!”

As this story was being filed at www.FrozenFoodsBiz.com, the petition count was up to 3,744 signatures. For those inclined to support the cause, log on to: bit.ly/MarleyBandJpetition.

Meanwhile, it seems that Legend is heading for the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 music charts for the first time in history, thanks in part to a promotion by Google Play.
