Frozen products figure prominently among the finalists that will compete for best new seafood product accolades at Seafood Expo Asia, taking place September 10-12 in Singapore. The finalists were selected based on several criteria including innovation, packaging, pricing and market acceptance.
Among products in the running are Premium Seafood Dumplings (pictured above) from Hong Yu Food Co. of Taiwan. Featuring a premium blend of cuttlefish, shrimp, scallops and high-quality Taiwanese pork, each frozen dumpling is delicately wrapped in a thin yet chewy skin that locks in the natural umami and juicy richness of the filling.
The inclusion of Taiwanese pork enhances the overall flavor profile, adding a subtle yet distinctive aroma that complements the seafood. Designed for versatile preparation, they can be steamed, pan-fried or boiled.
Another finalist product is Frozen Salmon Trout Fillet from Gumusdoga Seafood of Turkey (seen below). The Oncorhynchus mykissis species is distributed as portion cut fillets in retail packs.

Also in the running is Snow Treasures Miso-Marinated Cod Cube from Lam Kee Fisheries Pte Ltd. of Singapore. It boasts tender, buttery Chilean Seabass, hand-cut into bite-sized cubes and marinated in miso glaze. Conveniently portioned and ready to cook with minimal prep time, the product may be oven-baked, air-fries or pan-seared.
Other finalists include: Squid Har Now from Sincere Food Investment Pte Ltd. of Singapore; Lobster Oil from Lian Ruey Enterprise Co., Ltd. of Taiwan; Uni Fresco Paste from Oceanmaster Foods International Ltd. of Canada; Shuto from Shiino Foods Co., Ltd. of Japan; and Protein Pho Fusion from Vinh Hoan Corporation of Vietnam.
The live judging and tasting of the finalist products will take place on September 10 in the Product Showcase (Stand #D19) by a panel of high-volume seafood buyers and industry experts from the retail and foodservice industries across Asia. All entries submitted for the competition will be on display at the Product Showcase.
The Seafood Excellence Asia Awards is an extension of the Seafood Excellence awards featured at Seafood Expo North America and Seafood Expo Global, which consist of seafood buyers tasting, judging and selecting the best seafood products in the retail and HORECA (hotel/restaurant/catering) sectors.
