Bristol Seafood unveiled its new Bristol Grab & Go range of retail products distributed in 10-ounce, (284 grams) see-through packs on February 19. Each offering features previously frozen seafood in a contemporary format aimed at appealing to consumers. The line includes line-caught Alaska cod, sustainably farmed Atlantic salmon, and wild scallops harvested from North Atlantic waters, among other items.

“Today, seafood is the fastest-growing category in the American grocery store, and chilled Grab & Go appeals to younger shoppers, as well as other demographics,” said Iréne Moon, vice president of marketing and retail. “The range builds on our existing portfolio of frozen bagged items and the value-added My Fish Dish line to bring retailers a full suite of products that address shoppers’ evolving requirements.”

Bristol Grab & Go is produced at the company’s facility in Portland, Maine, and shipped frozen to be thawed in-store, thus limiting labor cost. Also, it addresses the issue of shrink at the operator level, with up to ten-day shelf life from thaw – all with zero preservatives.

The company intends to introduce additional consumer-friendly seafood offerings in the second quarter of the year.
