Sioux City, Iowa, USA-headquartered Cloverleaf Cold Storage plans to open a new refrigerated warehouse and distribution center in Monmouth, Illinois, next April. It is expected that 150 fulltime jobs will be created when it opens.

The 235,000 square foot facility will be situated adjacent to the Smithfield Farmland Monmouth plant.  Construction of the warehouse began on May 16, following a groundbreaking ceremony led by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.

In business since 1934, Cloverleaf is a family-owned company that provides public and contract storage and processing services to the food industry.  It has 15 facilities in the central and eastern United States, and was recently ranked as the 10th largest cold storage warehouse operator in the world by the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), an industry trade group.
