Eastern Fish began operations in 1974, primarily as a fish and crab trading company sourcing products from Alaska and Canada. By 1982 its focus was redirected to the burgeoning farmed raised shrimp industry, and today the company ranks as one of the world’s largest importers and marketers of shrimp.

In 2014 Marubeni Corporation became a financial partner of Eastern Fish, allowing it to expand global networks to cover Japan and Europe as well as the United States and cover the entire seafood supply chain from production to sales of final products.
