The Ijmuiden, Holland-headquartered Kloosterboer Group formally acquired Mosseporten Frysehotell AS in Moss, Norway, on May 22. The subterranean refrigerated warehouse, which is built into a mountain located approximately 60 kilometers from Oslo, is now conducting business as Kloosterboer Norway AS.
Bringing the facility into the Kloosterboer network strategically broadens its presence in Scandinavia, pointed out CEO Hans Kroes. In operation since 2009, it is one of the largest and most modern coldstores in Norway, offering clients 20,000 pallet positions for frozen food products.
“In combination with the team in Sweden, where we are currently finalizing a new fully automated high bay coldstore in Bjuv, we are well positioned to further develop our services as a logistics service provider in the market,” said Kroes.
Employing more than 700 people on two continents, the IJmuiden, Holland-headquartered Kloosterboer Group provides refrigerated warehousing, stevedoring, forwarding, shipping, and customs clearance services. It operates more than three million cubic meters of space with 500,000 tons of storage capacity at 15 locations in Europe and North America.
