The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA-headquartered National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) has announced winners of the Golden Penguin Awards for its 2019 Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties and June Dairy Month promotions. The campaigns helped producers drive traffic in supermarket and grocery stores aisles and increase sales for many categories and brands.
The annual Golden Penguin Awards competition provides an opportunity for companies to be saluted for excellence in 10 categories that reflect best merchandising and marketing practices in the frozen and refrigerated foods sectors. Retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, sales agents and associations of any size (retail and military) could enter any category applicable to their business. Entries were judged on their own merit taking into consideration organization size and/or program budget.
Thirty-six Gold and 35 Silver Awards were designated for presentation in the Dairy promotion, while 21 gold and as many silver prize winners were named in the Ice Cream & Novelties competition. The Gold recipients and Top Marketer winners will be saluted during an Awards Luncheon on October 15 at the trade association’s convention in Orlando, Florida. Silver awards are typically distributed at the local level during appropriate NFRA meetings later in the year.
