The Pinkberry frozen dessert and smoothies franchise is getting ready to usher in the fall season with pumpkin-flavored frozen yogurt, topped with crushed graham cracker pie crust, whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. This decadent swirl began being offered in US stores on August 13.

“Pumpkin is a favorite fall flavor that people look forward to every year,” said Melissa Hubbell, senior director of marketing for Scottsdale, Arizona-headquartered Kahala Brands, parent company of Pinkberry. “Our pumpkin frozen yogurt is filled with all the nostalgic spices of the season like ground cinnamon and vanilla bean.”

Founded in Los Angeles, California by Hye Kyung (Shelly) Hwang and Young Lee in 2005, today there are over 260 outlets operating in 20 countries. Yogurt flavors on offer run the gamut from Matcha and Pomegranate to Orange Peach Mango, Passion Fruit, Pineapple Colada, Pink Lemonade and more. Customers are invited to customize their choice with a variety of toppings that include fruit, premium granola, nuts, specialty chocolates and cookies.

Kahala Brands, which acquired Pinkberry in 2015, is regarded as one of the fastest growing franchising companies in the world with a portfolio of nearly 29 fast-casual and quick-service restaurant brands doing business in approximately 3,000 locations in 35 countries. Among its enterprises are Cold Stone Creamery, Planet Smoothie, Thai Express, Blimpie, Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill, Great Steak and Taco Time.
