On the heels of its successful launch of Dipped Greek Yogurt Bars in May and the announcement earlier this month of the return of limited edition seasonal products for the winter holidays, Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt has unveiled yet another innovation: Frozen Greek Yogurt Sandwiches. The indulgent snack, promoted as “a better-for-you spin on a classic, nostalgic dessert,” serves up four grams of protein and a calorie count of 100-140 per serving.
Three flavors are available in four-packs selling for $5.99 in the frozen food departments of Target stores and other retail food outlets across North America. Brief descriptions of each offering follow:
Mint Chocolate Chip. This sweet option boasts mint frozen Greek yogurt and chocolate-flavored chips wedged between two soft chocolate wafers.Vanilla Bean. This treat takes vanilla to the next level with creamy frozen Greek yogurt and chocolate wafers.Peanut Butter. Creamy peanut butter frozen Greek yogurt cradled between soft chocolate wafers is what this product is all about.
Kindergarten friends turned entrepreneurs, founders Drew Harrington and Amanda Klane set out on a mission to create desserts that deliver on everyday indulgence with exceptional taste, quality ingredients and good nutritional values. Since hitting supermarket shelves in 2011 as the first to market frozen Greek yogurt, the company reports that it “quickly became one of the fastest growing dessert brands in the world, disrupting the ranks of deeply entrenched competitors and attracting a loyal following of enthusiasts.”
Boulder, Colorado-based Yasso currently distributes 14 flavors of novelty stick bars and four varieties of dipped chocolate bars to grocery and club stores throughout the USA.
