Camanchaca Inc., the Miami, Florida-based division of Santiago, Chile headquartered Camanchaca S.A., has debuted Wild Argentine Red Shrimp under the Pier 33 Gourmet by Grand Krust label. Distributed frozen to both retailers and foodservice operators in 680-gram bags containing 10/30 piece per pound counts, the raw tail-off peeled and deveined shrimp is free of sulfates and additives.

“Committed to putting both customers and the communities we work in at the forefront of all we do, Camanchaca is constantly challenged to provide the best, most delicious seafood to consumers,” said Jennifer Mata, national shrimp sales manager. “We saw an opportunity to differentiate ourselves and to fill a void in the market with a unique item. With strict processes in place, we are proud to be first to offer such amazing shrimp.”

The company controls the quality of product from artisanal catch through production, ensuring the shrimp are free of preservatives, chemicals and additives – and frozen only once before hitting the market.

“Our team is always finding ways to innovate and meet consumer expectations,” said President Cesar Lago. “The trend has been gearing towards wholesome, all natural foods and we are proud to be the first in the shrimp sector to develop a product that will give consumers what they are looking for.”

The new Wild Argentine Red Shrimp offering is currently listed at major national retail stores and wholesale warehouses in North America, including Costco. It is also available to foodservice and private label customers, as are other frozen seafood items including salmon, mussels and langostino lobster tails.
