Northamptonshire, England-based frozen food distributor Central Foods has launched a mixed pack of gluten-free, vegan Indian savoury snacks as part of its growing assortment of free-from products for the foodservice sector. The selection includes onion bhajis, vegetable pakoras and vegetable samosas.

The hand-made products are promoted as “perfect for buffets, events, conferences, weddings and other gatherings, as well as for use as starters or accompaniments to dishes.”

“Indian food is one of the most-loved cuisines in the UK and this selection will provide foodservice operators with authentic, convenient-to-serve snacks,” said Gordon Lauder, managing director of Central Foods.

The mixed packs contain 20 onion bhajis, 20 vegetable pakoras and 20 vegetable samosas weighing in at approximately 20 grams apiece. Cook from frozen in a pre-heated oven (200°C/175°C /180°C [Fan]/ Gas mark 6) is 12 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time.

“As well as being suitable for vegans, vegetarians and those who avoid gluten, Menuserve Indian savoury snacks are sure to go down well with diners. They’re a great product to have for buffets and other events, or they can be served as part of a meal in a restaurant, pub or other foodservice outlet.”
